Declarations link for Team Managers
In many respects athletics is a very individual sport with no hiding place for each athlete in track and field, road running and cross country.
But there remains something special about the team effort required for relays no matter the discipline.
There is no actual baton to get round the mud and hills of Cumbernauld House park in the Lindsays National XC Relays on Saturday.
But the responsibility of helping team-mates or the club will doubtless inspire many – both individually on separate legs or the team performance as a collective.
What is certain, too, is that the Lindsays National XC Relays at Cumbernauld always generates a fantastic atmosphere.
We are expecting large numbers in North Lanarkshire as always and ask everyone who travels by car to be very thoughtful about parking (and respect local residents).
Road Running and Cross Country XC Commission Archive
In fact, team entry numbers are UP by 51 teams from last year – a brilliant response once again to #LindsaysXC competition.
2025 – 533 teams
2024 – 482 teams
2023 – 503 teams
Four races take place over the course of a few hours with the Young Females starting us off at 12 noon.
Within the Senior races, there are medals up for grabs for Masters teams and for V50 teams.
On our Event section page for Cumbernauld (via the justgo platform) please note special arrangements this year for athletes without a full team.
We are firmly of the view that everyone who is entered at Cumbernauld to compete should get the chance to run – but we do need all athletes to be declared by the team manager.
