The Age Group Champs take place at Grangemouth this weekend and we’re absolutely delighted with a remarkable response from clubs across Scotland.
Saturday plays host to U13s and U17s and Sunday sees the U15s and U20s in action at the popular central Scotland venue – with the 1289 athletes entered a record entry over recent years for these events.
We now have start-lists and timetables available for both days at Grangemouth and we would ask all athletes, coaches, volunteers and parents heading to Grangemouth to please check this key information.
At this juncture, also, let’s say a huge thank-you in advance to our hard-working scottishathletics officials who are preparing for two long shifts and with many of those having already helped ensure the Scottish Seniors and Relays went smoothly at Aberdeen last weekend.
The sport is always deeply indebted to the women and men in purple!
We can also add that we’re delighted to offer a live results service from the Age Group Champs which will mean you can follow the progress of your favourite athletes via an internet link direct to results.
This worked well at Aberdeen for the Seniors and thanks to those who have helped make this happen for scottishathletics, particulalry Janet Nixon and Alasdhair Love.
So there will now be two separate links available to follow results coming in from the Age Group Champs – one for Saturday for U13s and U17s and one for Sunday for U15s and U20s.
Don’t forget, too, that we’re launching our Rainbow laces campaign this weekend at the Age Groups as we seek to encourage athletics to be a completely inclusive sport.
