Conditions were perfect for the opening Scottish National Athletics League meeting at Grangemouth on Saturday.
Around 400 athletes took the opportunity to make a start to their 2023 outdoor seasons as track and field action made a return in the first of four meets in the Scottish National Athletics League.
The Scottish National League has been set up with a lot of hard work from a number of people led strongly by Leslie Roy, Convenor of our Track and Field Commission.
‘The weather was fantastic for our first meeting and there were some great performances on a lovely sunny April day,’ said Leslie.
‘Huge thank you to all our scottishathletics Officials and volunteers who made the event happen.’
Results are online and can be found at the link above.
The second meet is coming up on Saturday 28 May at Aberdeen Sports Village. there are two more meetings thereafter – on Saturday 18 June and Sunday 30 June and both of these will be at Grangemouth.
Great to see this coming to fruition, well done to those involved in making it happen & special mention for @leslie_roy1 who has been instrumental in pulling it all together. Really positive for athletics in Scotland @scotathletics https://t.co/oHisWGaxSm
