Elite Race Results 2022 – Antrim Coast Half Marathon
There were PBs for two Scottish athletes in a fast Antrim Coast Half Marathon that saw both the men’s and women’s UK all-comers records fall.
Sean Chalmers led the Scotland men’s team home as he finished 13th in 64:57.
There was a new personal best for Fraser Stewart of 66:22 for 20th place, closely followed by Lewis Rodgers in 22nd (66:38) and Michael Christoforou in 26th (67:04).
The men’s race was won by Ethiopian Jemal Yimer in 59:03 with Callum Hawkins continuing his return to racing in 64:02 to be top Scot on the day.
In the women’s race, Virginie Barrand was the first Scot home in 9th place, setting a new PB in 66:29.
Metro Aberdeen club-mate Claire Bruce finished in 17th (81:00) with Rebecca Burns completing the Scottish team in 18th (81:34).
Ethiopia’s Yalemzerf Yehualaw set off at world record pace, going through 5km in 14:43, before settling down to run a UK all-comers record of 64:12.

22nd – Lewis Rodgers, SCO/Fife AC, 66:38
26th – Michael Christoforou, SCO/Cambuslang Harriers, 67:04
1st – Yalemzerf Yehualaw, ETH, 64:21 (UK Women’s All-comers’ record)
9th – Virginie Barrand, SCO/Metro Aberdeen, 76:29 (PB)
17th – Claire Bruce, SCO/Metro Aberdeen, 81:00
18th – Rebecca Burns, SCO/Pitreavie AAC, 81:34
