Changing Lives programme – sportscotland website
scottishathletics continue to champion inclusive practice within the sport and are striving to embed the changing lives mindset across all aspects of the organisation.
Our internal #OnTheRightTrack programme has continued into 2022 by providing opportunities for clubs to connect, receive support and develop innovative solutions to equality challenges faced across the sporting community.
This year we were proud to launch the #OnTheRightTrack small grants scheme which clubs can apply for to support on-going ‘Changing Lives’ work within athletics communities across Scotland.
Forth Valley Flyers, a thriving club for individuals with a physical, learning or sensory disability received an award of £200 and used this to commission a professional video to further promote the inclusive nature of their club.
Current club members Abby Cook and David Dent share their first experiences of coming along to the club and the warm welcome they received, while also highlighting the range of activities available for individuals with additional needs.
