Neil Gourley came up with an excellent performance in his 1500m race at the Eugene Diamond League meet.
The Scot clocked a new PB of 3:34.85 and that is inside the standards being asked for both the World Champs with GB and NI and the Commonwealths with Team Scotland.
It also lifts Neil to sixth on the Scottish all-time list as he moves above Frank Clement.
There were tough races, however, for Laura Muir and Jemma Reekie as they finished 11th and 8th at 1500m and 800m respectively. Faith Kipyegon dominated the Women’s 1500m as Laura came home in 4:04.45 while Jemma’s time was 2:00.53.
*GB and NI Women took bronze medals at the European 10,000m Cup in France. Unfortunately, Steph Twell was a DNF on the night.
Well done to Cambuslang Harriers athlete, Moira Stewart, who competes for the Czech Republic (via her mother’s nationality). Moira clocked a PB of 32:08.96 to set a new Czech National Record.
