The Caird Park track and field facility at Dundee is the venue for the Throws and Jumps GP on Saturday 26 June and entries are open online until late on Thursday evening.
We would love to have as many entries as possible to help our Throwers to keep improving and the Scottish Athletics Jumps Project to continue to progress.
In U17 Triple Jump, for example, there are really exciting performances coming from the trio of Libby White (Ayr Seaforth), Kate Harvie (Moorfoot) and Holly Kirkwood (VP-Glasgow) who all made impressions on the all-time list at Pitreavie.
We hope to see them, and many more jumpers and throwers, in Dundee!
It’s a great opportunity to post a Personal Best or Season’s Best as we head towards national champs later in the summer . . .
Entries close at 11.59pm on Thursday 17 June

JOINT LEAGUE MATCH 2 – GRANGEMOUTH
Sunday witnessed another highly-successful Joint League March with sunshine and Personal Bests.
This was a chance for the sprinters after Match 1 was for middle distance athletes. The windy was gusting so not many of the 100m series were legal windspeeds, however that didn’t deter the athletes and there were some good performances.
In the first heat of pool 1 of the 100m East Kilbride’s Greg Kelly stormed down the track ins 10.56 closely followed by Sean Stewart (U20) of Pitreavie. Taking third spot was emerging U17 Dean Patterson clocking a sub 11 seconds in 10.91 with Jamie Stevenson of VP Glasgow fourth in 10.97. Unfortunately the windspeed was +2.6m/s.
In the women’s race Alyson Bell (U20) Giffnock North took the win in 11.70 seconds with Taylah Spence of Orkney 12.09 and in third place was Sarah Malone of Edinburgh AC in 12.18. Windspeed +2.3m/s
In the 400m Grant Plenderleith of Falkirk Vics took first place with 47.73. Zoey Clark of Aberdeen AAC raced in the second of the men’s races and took third spot with 51.79
