The 4J SUPERteams is a special day for many of the youngest athletes at our clubs.
This year around 400 in the U12s age bracket gathered at the Emirates Arena on Sunday for fun and competition.
We regard the SUPERteams fundamentally as a development event and for many of the young athletes this is their first taste of competition.
Our Officials are brilliant at placing the emphasis on learning and we want to thank our purple and red army (after a busy Saturday at the Emirates).
Thank you, also, to all our clubs, team managers, coaches and parents for supporting this event.
The athletes representing the top three teams – Giffnock North AC, Harmeny AC and Gala Harriers – took each took home a SUPERteams pin badge, featuring the new SUPERteams logo.
Here are a couple of comments from clubs across social media . . .
‘Our amazing U13s spent a whole day at the Scottish Athletics SUPERteams – running, jumping and throwing’ Always an exciting event to be part of’
