Our resilience is brilliant: Clubs, speakers relish learning at Conference
scottishathletics were delighted to welcome Paralympian Derek Rae and Olympic and World champion Christine Ohuruogu as guest speakers at our 2025 National Club Conference.
Derek and Christine gave delegates a fascinating insight to their careers and their experiences of pathways into our sport, with Christine interviewed by our Chair David Ovens in an absorbing Q and A.
With the overall theme of ‘Resilience’, also playing a key part of the day were Inverclyde AC, Pitreavie AAC and West Dunbartonshire AC. These three clubs delivered absorbing workshops on their experiences of resilience.
The National Club Conference was delivered in association with JustGo and Tunnock’s.
Also in attendance were Athletics Trust Scotland and the Young People’s Forum, as well as key partners including Club Development Consultancy, SAMH and Joma.
We would like to thank partners and delegates for attending, and for their contributions, which made the day so successful.
