Our 4J Awards Dinner is coming up next month and we are expecting to deliver another fantastic night for our sport.

Athlete of the Year awards will be presented but, just as importantly, there is a chance to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate key folk across the full range of athletics in Scotland.

So today we reveal the short-lists for Volunteer of the Year and Technical Official of the Year ahead of what we feel sure will be a great night at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. We also reveal nominees in four categories for the Coach of the Year.

Tickets are now on sale and we anticipate high demand so please don’t delay if planning to book.

In alphabetical order, here are short-lists in those categories for 2024 . . .

Technical Official of the Year:

Sandra Hardacre; Moira Logan; Alyson MacPhail

Volunteer of the Year:

Charis Crawford (Springburn Harriers) ; Brian Nisbet (Edinburgh AC) ; David Wagstaff (Shetland AAC)

In the area of volunteers and Officials, we also present:

*The Raymond Hutcheson Trophy for Services to Officiating

*The Tom Stillie Sword

These Awards are selected by panels (no short-lists) and the winners will be revealed on the night of the 4J Awards Dinner.

Coaches are at the very heart of our sport, too.

At all levels, these volunteers have a huge impact as they seek to guide athletes at different stages of the pathway.

Derek Johnston (Harmeny AC) ; Graham Reid (West Dunbartonshire AC) ; Tony Segall (Musselburgh and District AC)

Performance Development Coach of the Year:

Performance Coach of the Year:

Ross Cairns; Angela Mudge; Lewis Walker

Para Athlete Performance Coach of the Year

Congratulations to all those nominated in our Volunteer, Official and Coach categories. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday 29 November.
