Results – check ‘scores’ for medal outcomes
Our Masters gathered in Dundee on Saturday afternoon with more than 400 athletes on the start-lists for the Lindsays Masters XC.
A downpour right before the start cleared just in time for the races and Camperdown Park was duly bathed in sunshine throughout!
There are two races in this event with medals that distributed in five year age bands from V40 on the day.
Inverness Harriers athlete Helen Leigh won the women’s race from Sara Green of Gala and Michelle Sandison of Springburn.
Cambuslang Harrier Colin Donnelly – not stranger to a medal over the past few years (decades!) – led home the M65 race by some distance.
In the M40-M60 race, Darrell Hastie of Gala had a clear lead after the initial lap. The chasing pack of three featured Iain Whittaker (Edinburgh), Donald MacAulay (Corstorphine) and Joe Symonds (Shettleston).
The leaders were the same after the first full lap and, with Hastie well clear by the finish, it was Whittaker who took second closely followed by MacAulay.
As always, big thank you to the Road Running and Cross Country Commission, our dedicated team of endurance Officials and host club Dundee Hawkhill Harriers for help in delivering the Lindsays Masters XC.
Results are online and should give the age band medal outcomes.
With thanks to Morven Bruce for photos, video content in Dundee.
