Building a Culture of Success

Our Strategy, Building a Culture of Success (2023-2027) captures the breadth of work that scottishathletics facilitates, from supporting performance athletes on the world stage to providing opportunities for people to participate in the sport within their local community.

To support the delivery of the Strategy, focus groups are being established as part of the agreed sub-structure of the Scottish Athletics Ltd Board.

A new Coaching Focus Group has been set up to lead the way in this regard and becomes the first of these panels to be launched.

Chaired by Eilidh Doyle, the group will help inform, advise and support the delivery and review of the coaching elements in both the ‘Clubs & Pathways’ and ‘Performance Environments’ pillars of the Strategy.

Following a successful recruitment process, we are delighted to welcome the following six key individuals to the group:

Iain Crawford, Janice Hendrie, Barbara Knox, Linda Nicholson, Andrew Peck, Stephen Wallace.

The core purpose of the Coaching Focus Group will be:

  • Supporting and influencing the delivery of the coaching elements in both the ‘Clubs & Pathways’ and ‘Performance Environments’ pillars of Building a Culture of Success (2023-2027)
  • Providing advice and feedback to the Board and staff to support the delivery of the annual coaching sub-strategy and overall strategic initiatives
  • Supporting the review of progress against the delivery of the strategy
  • Supporting engagement with different core groups within athletics in Scotland
