There were winners aplenty at our superb 4J Awards Dinner in Glasgow on Saturday evening.
And we would like to think there were no losers as the sport recognised, celebrated and supported those who make it happen on a weekly basis in Scotland.
That’s Officials, coaches, volunteers and of course our clubs – who were well represented in an audience of close to 500 guests.
Guest of Honour Liz McColgan had everyone rapt with stories from a pioneering career and the triple Olympian and World Champion was very clear on how the pathway works in Scotland.
Those sentiments chimed with the themes much earlier in the day when delegates gathered for our National Club Conference at the same Hilton Hotel venue in Glasgow.
‘One of the key messages we like to underline as a governing body, and for the sport in Scotland, is that ‘Everyone Has a Role to Play‘ ,’ said Colin Hutchison, chief executive.
‘That’s really evident and obvious at a night like the 4J Annual Awards. You see the wide cross-section of folk within the sport and all making big contributions to make it happen.
‘I think when we add the jogscotland accolades, we have no fewer than 24 awards presented on the night and of course nominees short-listed, too.
‘I like that because we firmly believe it is about much more than the 4J Athlete of the Year or the 4J Para Athlete of the Year.
‘So I really like the idea of two dozen awards and no doubt there are many more deserving recipients out in the community. Thanks for your support!’
