Melanie ready for World Para Champs with GB and NI in Japan

Melanie Woods heads into World Para Champs in Japan later this week.

The wheelchair racer is now the sole Scot with the GB and NI team for the event over May 17-25.

Owen Miller unfortunately had to withdraw from the T20 1500m after sustaining an injury in the build-up to to the Champs..

Ali Smith and Zac Shaw have been chosen by their team-mates as GB and NI team captains at Kobe24.

After a vote conducted by the selected team, Smith and Shaw came out on top overall. The pair will lead the squad competing at the Championships in Japan starting on Friday.

The World Para Athletics Championships Kobe24 get underway on Friday 17 May and runs through to Saturday 25 May.
