Champions are crowned in our Junior Hill League

scottishathletics and Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels are pleased to announce a new three-year sponsorship agreement in support of the Scottish Junior Hill Running League.

The deal provides prizes and mementos for young hill runners taking part in the junior league as well as additional financial resources for the promotion and development of this exciting and challenging discipline among junior athletes in Scotland.

‘The support from Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels will allow us [our team at the Scottish Athletics Hill Running Commission] to develop an annual programme that will grow participation, build skills and confidence and reward commitment and excellence among our young hill runners,’ said Angela Mudge, the scottishathletics Hill Running lead.

Many of the Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels are located in fantastic hill running areas of the country including Glencoe, Crieff and Strathearn and The Borders.

In fact, the Peebles Hydro recently played host to the Junior Home International races on nearby Cademuir hill earlier this month.

Nic Oldham, Commercial Director of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, said: ‘We want our guests to use their stays with us to enjoy and explore the amazing landscapes and scenery that Scotland has to offer.

‘Hill running is all about that spirit of adventure and we are proud to support young people getting involved in such a positive and transforming activity.’

The agreement will support the Junior Hill Running League in 2023, 2024 and 2025 and ensures that everyone who completes the series will receive a memento and that category winners and runners-up will each receive prizes.
