Fraser Stewart and Natasha Phillips won Scottish Half Marathon titles in Inverness in March and now head for Antrim

Scotland athletes are headed to compete this weekend at the Antrim Coast Half Marathon.

The races in Northern Ireland always attract high quality fields and fast times are expected in Sunday’s races.

Following a couple of withdrawals, we confirmed earlier this month that Charlie Sandison (Fulham RC) and Michael Ferguson (Aberdeen AAC) have now been picked to wear the Scotland vest.

Inverclyde AC athlete John Bell was announced as also having been selected as that trio join Fraser Stewart of Cambuslang.

The Women’s team is as selected originally, with all four athletes making Scotland vest debuts – Natasha Phillips, Sara Green, Sarah Potter and Eilidh Bell.

Scotland Men:

Fraser Stewart (Cambuslang Harriers); John Bell (Inverclyde AC), Charlie Sandison (Fulham RC), Michael Ferguson (Aberdeen AAC).

Scotland Women:

Natasha Phillips (Dundee Hawkhill Harriers); Sarah Potter (VP-Glasgow); Eilidh Bell (Shettleston Harriers); Sara Green (Gala Harriers).

The Monument Mile Classic takes place in Stirling on Saturday afternoon and evening – and promises to be the best yet!

It is the sixth edition of the event and Race Director Michael Wright and Central AC have worked really hard to grow the event.

We are expecting just over 30 races to take place culminating in the top Women’s heat and the top Men’s heat around 9pm on Saturday evening.

With World Athletics permit status proving a key draw, athletes from the rest of the UK, Europe and even further afield are signed.

The top Women’s race features Olympic silver medallist Courtney Frerichs, also a 2017 World Champs silver medallist in the steeplechase, and the Men’s race has Kenyan Vincent Keter.
