2022 SAL HM Results

The Great Scottish Run last weekend featured our Tru Wealth Scottish Half Marathon championships.

And, after individual title wins for Callum Hawkins of Kilbarchan AAC and Fionnuala Ross of Shettleston Harriers, we’re pleased to send our congratulations to team medal winners.

There were gold team successes for Shettleston in the Women’s division and Edinburgh AC in the Men’s race. Cambuslang Harriers had a memorable day, too, with two sets of silvers.

It was three to count for teams for both men and women.

Men’s 1-2-3 (with points tally):

1 Edinburgh AC 40 (John Lenehan, Callum Reid, Myles Bax)

2 Cambuslang Harriers 78 (Fraser Stewart, Stuart McGeachy, Steven Fitzpatrick)

3 Garscube Harriers 95 (Colin Whitby, Craig Shields, James Wilkes)

Women’s 1-2-3:

1 Shettleston Harriers 18 (Fionnuala Ross, Avril Mason, Aoife Carr)

2 Cambuslang Harriers 68 (Lesley Blackwood, Nathalie Brohan, Kirsty O’Brien)

3 Bellahouston Road Runners 104 (Rebekah Russell, Rhona Fraser, Deborah Gray)

There is a summary of individual and team medals lodged at the top of this story. We plan to issue medals by post over the next few days.

Callum won the Great Scottish Run for the second time after his 2016 success and was joined on the Tru Wealth Scottish Half Champs podium by Adam Craig and Derek Hawkins.

Inverclyde’s Adam clocked 64:17 and Kilbarchan’s Derek was at 65:32.

Shettleston’s Fionnuala won the Women’s title once again and was followed home by Giffnock North’s Yvonne McNairn (79:49) and Fife AC’s Annabel Simpson (80:55).

Masters medals in ten-year bandings for men and women are displayed within the Results summary linked at the top of the story.

Many congratulations to all our medallists and indeed to all those athletes, coaches and clubs who competed in the Half Marathon Champs.
