Scotland will be represented at the U20 Welsh International in Swansea in August.

The event will take place on Wednesday 17 August following another switch of date to avoid it being close to the England Athletics U20 Champs (July 16-17).

scottishathletics made representations to hosts Welsh Athletics and we are delighted with the change and to now be able to select a team. Athletes at U20 and U17 level will come under consideration.

It had looked as if an U20 international  might not have been possible this summer – with the Manchester International cancelled by England Athletics because of the Commonwealth Games.

Happily, there is now an opportunity via the event in Swansea which can act as strong motivation for athletes and coaches at a key stage in their development.

Scotland will face Wales, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland on Wednesday 17 August. Our selection date will be July 20 (immediately after the England Athletics U20 Champs).

Events to feature in the Welsh International are listed in our (online) International Handbook detail and include Relays TBC.
