Perth Strathtay praised for inclusive approach

Perth Strathtay Harriers were our first winners of the Janice Eaglesham MBE Para Development Club of the Year award.

That was introduced in our 4J Annual Awards back in 2020 and the club continue to demonstrate a terrific approach to integrating Para athletes within their training programmes.

It’s a huge part of the ethos at Perth Strathtay Harriers and it is great to see now that a number of clubs across the length and breadth of Scotland are starting to replicate that.

Here, in a special video, FrameRunner Wiktoria Mucha talks about her experience of training at the club and her own her ambitions for the future.

The video was created by Scott Tait at Weeflee Productions and shared with us with thanks to Jim Hunter.

It was Cerebral Palsy Awareness month throughout March and scottishathletics were pleased to mark that with special video content.

In keeping with our inclusive approach – athletics is for everyone – many of our clubs are finding ways to offer a welcome to all athletes.

And Bellahouston Road Runners have demonstrated that emphatically with their support for CP runner, Andy Tomlinson, as our YouTube film demonstrates.
