Athletics Trust Scotland has launched the Summer Proms 3k Series that will take place at Aberdeen Beach Promenade on the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm.

The first race of the series will take place on Wednesday 6 April with the remaining dates being May 4, June 1, July 7, August 3 and September 7.

Online entry can be found here for the first race in April and then via our Events section pages for all subsequent races. Entries for the April 6 race close this Monday (April 4).

Entry is £6 for SA Affiliated and £8 for non- SA members per race. The race series welcomes entries from all standards of runners and disabled athletes.

‘The money raised from these events will go towards supporting up and coming athletes who require much needed help to get them to the next level of the sport,’ said Kyle Greig, Fundraising Manager with ATS.

‘Unfortunately, there are many athletes who have the potential to excel in athletics but may not fit into a certain category due to disability, mental health or growing up in poverty.

‘This is where ATS intends to try and help fill the gap for those who most need our support to progress and improve in the sport.’

There will be a series prize for all age categories and the three races accumulated times to count for the overall series.
