Stacey Downie is no stranger to the podium at Scottish Championship events but her achievement in taking gold in the 4J Seniors 400m final at the Emirates Arena was significant.
It means the Edinburgh AC athlete now has completed a clean sweep of indoor Scottish titles across 60m, 200m and 400m to add to outdoor titles at 100m, 200m and 400m.
Stacey won the indoor 200m in 2009 and the 60m in 2011 and the outdoor titles as follows: 200m in 2008, 2009; 100m in 2011 and 400m in 2019.
We understand via the Scottish Athletics Historian, Arnold Black, that this matches an achievement held by Melanie Neef.
And we should certainly add that Stacey also has a string of Scottish titles for team events via the 4x200m relays indoors and the 4x100m and 4x400m outdoors.
Well done to Stacey and her family and support team!

The silver medal won by @GuyLearmonth takes his medal tally at UK indoor championships to 10, the first Scot to reach a double figures total at the championships. https://t.co/a994RoDvzo

Stacey by no means the only athlete celebrating a multiple medal feat in the Indoor Season.
Well done to Guy Learmonth on once again adding to his collection with silver in the 800m final at the British Indoor Champs.
Guy has now claimed no fewer than 10 medals at the British Indoors down the years and that is more than any other Scot.
With thanks to Arnold Black
