Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds and Central AC are the winners of our Cross Country Team Challenge for 2021.

The Team Challenge is contested by clubs in the Senior Women’s and Senior Men’s divisions across three short course events each autumn – the District XC Relays, the Lindsays National Relays and the Lindsays Short Course XC.

Edinburgh Uni women and Central AC men have dominated the tables in recent years and did so once again after demonstrating significant strength in depth.

The two clubs will now each receive a top prize of £250 from scottishathletics for club funds.

Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds amassed 49 points to take the Women’s Team Challenge from second-placed Glasgow Uni (46 points). The Edinburgh students were third with their B team and VP-Glasgow completed the top four.

Central AC for their part took both the top two places in the men’s table. The A team won the full 50 points with the B team at 44 points alongside Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds (with Central taking second place via their better performance at Lanark).

Cambuslang Harriers and Aberdeen completed the top five.

Congratulations to Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds and Central AC on their successes in the Cross Country Team Challenge.
