Start-lists for Lanark

The Lindsays Cross Country Season heads for Lanark Racecourse next weekend – and what a response we’ve had to the Short Course Champs.

In total we’ve 1281 athlete names on start-lists for six races from U15 and U17 through to the U20s/Seniors/Masters.

That is a figure only ever topped on a couple of occasions and the entry for Lanark this year is UP three percent on a five-year average from this event prior to Covid-19.

Here’s a couple of key stats . . .

* The biggest increase is in Senior/U20 Women’s entries (up 11% on the 5 years pre-COVID) and the 2021 figure is the second highest ever, and only the second time over 300 athletes in the race.

* There are more clubs represented in the 2021 entries than there were in 2019.

Thanks to all clubs, coaches, parents and athletes committing to competition.

It is much appreciated and reflects a strong desire to recover any momentum lost during the global pandemic.

Final details around the Lindsays Short Course XC event will be published and promoted next week including all the usual advice on parking, declarations, course map etc.
