Sign-up for Regional Development Days for Sprints and Hurdles

scottishathletics are pleased to present three Regional Development Days over the coming months as part of our Sprints and Hurdles Project 2021-22.

The first of these is coming up over the weekend of October 23/24 and interested coaches are asked to sign up via the Google form.

Here’s more information about the Regional Development Days . . .

Purpose:

The purpose of the RD Days is to assist coaches to progress their knowledge of the jumps events and their awareness of how to apply this within the training environment

Criteria:

Coaches with a valid coaching licence and an up-to-date SAL coach membership. Athletes with up-to-date SAL athlete membership

Saturday 23 October East PM (Grangemouth) North PM (Inverness)

Sunday 24 October West AM (Emirates Arena)

Saturday 11 December East (Pitreavie) West (Emirates Arena) North (TBC)

Saturday 26 March East (Pitreavie) West (Emirates Arena) North (TBC)

Hurdles Practical Workshops (Long and Sprint)

Saturday 30 October AM (Grangemouth)

Sunday 12 December AM (TBC)

Sunday 27 March AM (TBC)

 Who:

The RD Days are aimed at club coaches working with U15 and U17 athletes that are looking for more event specific information.

Each coach attending will be able to bring an athlete along with them to participate in the session.

What:

Help coaches understand the event

Use practical examples of good training exercises

Share a curriculum for teaching the technical events that includes a focus on all-round athletic development
