Sign-up for Regional Development Days for Throws

scottishathletics are pleased to present three Regional Development Days over the coming months as part of our Throws Project 2021-22.

The first of these is coming up over the weekend of October 23/24 and interested coaches are asked to sign up via the Google form.

Here’s more information about the Regional Development Days . . .

Purpose:

The purpose of the RD Days is to assist coaches to progress their knowledge of the throws events and their awareness of how to apply this within the training environment.

By doing this we hope we will also increase the number of coaches working at the U15 and U17 level in the Throws and will look to achieve this by:

*Engaging with Coaches – Providing practical, accessible workshop opportunities for ongoing learning

*Building Networks – Helping coaches to work cooperatively and collaboratively with coaches from other clubs

Criteria:

Coaches with valid licence and up-to-date SAL coach membership. Athletes with up-to-date SAL athlete Membership

Throws RDD

When:

Saturday 23 October East PM (Grangemouth)

Sunday 24 October West AM/PM (Emirates Arena)

Saturday 4 December East (Dundee)

Sunday 5 December West (Emirates Arena)

Sunday 12 December North (Inverness)

Saturday 12 March East (Grangemouth)

Sunday 13 March West (Kilmarnock)

Sunday 17 April North (Inverness)

Who:

The RD Days are aimed at any coach who wants to develop their understanding of Throws (CA qualified and above).

Each coach attending will be able to bring an athlete to participate in the session

What:

Focus on supporting coaches to develop the technical and physical literacy of athletes and increase their knowledge and understanding of how to effectively plan and develop their programmes.
