England Athletics Throws Fest – Northampton

Calling all young throwers and their coaches!

scottishathletics are pleased to confirm that as part of our 2021 Throws Project, we will be supporting a small number of Scottish U18 athletes (born in 2004 and 2005) to compete at an event in England in September.

The England Athletics Throws Fest is taking place at Moulton College, Northampton, on the weekend of September 4/5.

scottishathletics will apply standards as follows in order for athletes to be invited to this event:

Glasgow Uni AC job vacancy

Want to work in athletics?

There is a part-time post coming up as the new Distance Coach for Glasgow University AC – a paid position, with the salary to be negotiated.

GUAC are Scotland’s most successful university athletics club in recent years having won the Scottish Uni Indoor and Outdoor titles 10 years in a row.

The club has also witnessed rapid member expansion and now boasts 115 members with this number growing year on year.

The successful applicant as the new Distance Coach will take a responsibility for the event group, planning and delivering sessions which will suit a range of abilities from beginner to national level athletes.

The Distance Coach will report to elected club committee members and work alongside other event-specific coaches, including student coaching assistants who may be able to offer support with the delivery of sessions.

As well as providing a flexible, adaptable training plan for athletes, the successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a strong technical understanding of the sport. Knowledge and an ability to plan gym sessions is also preferred but not essential.
