Clubs: join our online session for help with Honours nominations

How to master an Honours nomination – April 21 session

The athletics community in Scotland has been fortunate in recent years to have had a number of our volunteers and office-bearers recognised via the Honours system.

Former President Leslie Roy, current Chair Ian Beattie, our resident Historian, Arnold Black, and Officials Development Officer, Shona Malcolm, immediately spring to mind as richly deserving recipients.

But there’s always room for more and scottishathletics are keen to encourage further ‘grassroots’ nominations in order to reflect and recognise the huge contributions made by certain dedicated individuals.

So that’s why we are setting up a special online workshop to help clubs (and others who may be interested) find out more about nominating someone for inclusion on the Honours list.

The session will take place on Wednesday 21 April from 12 noon to 1pm and is hosted by the Honours and Appointment Secretariat.

Sign-up for free here for the online session

Join this one hour session for a behind-the-scenes look at how the honours system operates, and get top tips on what to include in your nomination.

You will hear first-hand from honours recipients about how it feels to be recognised.

And you will also hear from a member of the Honours Sports Committee about what they look for in a nomination.
