Once again we send our thanks to all those who took part in our latest Lindsays Virtual Road Challenge over the past weekend.
Distances for each age group in this one were aligned to what would have been the races at the Lindsays National XC – which had been due to take place on Saturday 6 March but fell victim to the global pandemic restrictions.
Solo runs or with one other were allowed as young athletes took on shorter distances and our Seniors and Masters ‘raced’ virtually with runs of 10k.
Turning first to the team events, here’s the 1-2-3 in the categories:
Overall 10k: 1 Bellahouston Road Runners; 2 Greenock Glenpark Harriers; 3 Garioch Road Runners
Overall 3k: 1 Edinburgh AC; 2 Giffnock North AC; 3 Falkirk Victoria Harriers
Overall 1.5k: 1 Inverclyde AC A; 2 Gala Harriers; 3 Inverclyde AC B.
This day last year I was racing in Loughborough. My last “real life” race. Today a solo @scotathletics virtual 10km in Shetland. Miss racing with others so much, miss training with others too but so glad that the sport I love can still be done during a pandemic. pic.twitter.com/XGvRQPSryU
