Josh Kerr opened up his season in America with a very impressive win in Los Angeles.

The Scot clocked 3:35.78 for victory in the 1500m race at the Sound Running Invite event as he closed out a very strong last lap.

It means three Scots currently top the British rankings with sub 3:36 runs in limited competition so far – Jake Wightman and Neil Gourley being the others.

Eilish McColgan went with the early pace in the Women’s 5000m race but later stepped off the track. We hope Eilish is OK.

Scottish thrower George Evans has ended his indoor season in good heart for the season ahead outdoors.

The Inverness Harriers member is based at Kansas University on a sports scholarship while he studies for an economics degree.

George recently set a shot put PB of 17.79m to move to fourth on the Scottish all-time list indoors. It was the biggest throw by a Scot in the shot indoors for 20 years.

‘I’m pleased with that and it capped off my indoor season,’ he told the Press and Journal. ‘I am now looking ahead to the outdoor season which starts for me in a couple of weeks.’

*Aberdeen AAC athlete Alix Still has had her place confirmed in the NCAA finals this weekend – as she targets the National Record held by Aileen Wilson.
