Great news! A new edition of PB magazine has been issued this week to scottishathletics members.
We’ve posted out the print edition to members over that age of 21 while for younger members there is a digital version issued by a specific email.
It’s been a strange year, of course, and there’s a strong feature element to this issue rather than a focus on events.
The front cover features prominently Para athlete Lauren Gallagher at the 4J Studios National Open Series at Meadowmill and demonstrating the joy of athletics competition in a superb photo by Bobby Gavin.
Our 4J Studios Annual Awards are highlighted and there’s a big interview with Performance Coach of the Year Andy Young as well as an in-depth look at Jemma Reekie’s early years, as writer Katy Barden chats to both Jemma’s mum Morna and her former primary teacher, Elizabeth Duncan.
On the centre pages of this issue, TV commentator Tim Hutchings gives his views on our three joint winners of the 4J Studios Performer of the Year title – Laura Muir, Jake Wightman and Jemma Reekie.
In our regular look at grassroots athletes we open the doors on Kilbarchan AAC’s new Indoor Centre, meet Official Andy Law, and find out more about coaching Para athletes from Jamie Bowie.
And there is a special focus on the lockdown efforts of club stalwarts Michael Wright (Central AC), Richard Leyton (Bellahouston Road Runners) and Gregor Malcolm (Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds) are also in focus.
PB is issued only to members of Scottish Athletics and we hope you enjoy this edition.
