Our Autumn Throws series concluded at the weekend with the second of two events at Linwood.
With a host of Covid-19 protocols in place, and great support from host club Kilbarchan AAC and our volunteer Officials, it was great to hear of now fewer than 24 Personal Best performances.
All ages were involved in discus and hammer, as well as an invitational javelin competition, and with 44 athletes competing it was a good way to end the track and field season for many.
‘It really was good to see athletes throughout the age groups produce PB performances at the end of such a unique outdoor season,’ said Alison Grey, scottishathletics Throws Coordinator.
‘We extend a massive thank you to the athletes, clubs and coaches who supported both events and hosts Kilbarchan AAC.
‘It goes without saying that we would not have these events without our ‘purple army’ of officials, in particular thank you to Liz Wilder, Jim and Elaine Green who were instrumental getting these events off the ground.’
