Virtual Pentathlon chance for our Para athletes

Scottish Para athletes can still sign-up for the Scottish Disability Sport Virtual Pentathlon in association with scottishathletics.

Registration for the event has been extended to midnight on Friday (September 11) with around 300 athletes expected to compete overall.

The Virtual Pentathlon involves:  75m Shuttle Run, Target Throw, Standing Long Jump, 400m and Speed Bounce. All can be adapted for all abilities.

Safety and Covid-19 Guidelines: Please ensure that your athletes keep themselves and others safe whilst participating in the activities. Unfortunately SDS cannot accept any liability for any illness or injury that happen during the Virtual Pentathlon so please do keep yourselves safe and strictly follow the latest Covid-19 Guidelines which you can find here.

Deadline for Sign-up: Given the level of interest the deadline has now been extended to midnight on Friday 11 September. Sign up is available through the website above.

 Results Document: All branches who have registered should have received their results spreadsheet with instructions as to how to complete the results as they come in.

Classification: One final amendment to classification has been made with athletes with down syndrome added to Classification 3: Ambulant 1.

If you have an athlete with Down Syndrome that has already signed up prior to this amendment please email us at events@scottishdisabilitysport.com with details and we will amend the system.

Virtual Pentathlon 2020: 75m Shuttle Demo

Here is the first demonstration video of the 2020 Virtual Pentathlon. This video is by Gemma Lumsdaine, a member of the SDS Young Person Sports Panel and shows you how a manual wheelchair user (not in a racing chair) can complete this event. The Pentathlon starts on Monday and participants have as many efforts in a week as they lilke to beat their best score. When carrying out all the event please ensure you are observing all relevant guidance related to keeping you and others safe during this Covid-19 period. The latest guidance can be found on Scottish Disabiluty Sport and Scottish Government websites.
