scottishathletics are now opening the licensing of Events from Saturday 1 August.
This is in line with all the Scottish Government guidance and the Covid-19 guidance from ourselves which is outlined on this website.
Events for younger age groups (U18 and below) look to be easier to stage at present as there are no physical distancing restrictions for those athletes while ‘on the field of play’.
We would anticipate that club championship or (reduced capacity) open graded events would fit for a short track and field season through August and September.
And our published guidance for Off-Track events gives pointers for hill and trail races over the next couple of months and the return of road racing.
Virtual Events may remain an option in some cases and, clearly, there will be local solutions in certain cases depending on different approaches around venues and facility opening and so on.
The licence application process is (as normal) via the link online here
We are currently open for Summer 2020 (event date 1 August to 30 September 2020).
We are also open to license events for Winter 2020-21 (event date 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021).
