Falkirk start-lists and media partnership with Record Sport

Falkirk start-lists (on right of page)

The countdown is well and truly on to the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk – and the largest field for the event in more than 25 years of joint cross country championships for men and women.

We’re delighted to confirm that Callendar Park will indeed once again be the venue as we return to the familiar backdrop for the 15th time.

And scottishathletics are also pleased to announce a Media Partnership with the Scottish Daily Record.

There were some concerns earlier this week around the recent poor weather and the forecast for the Falkirk area and, as such, we are working with our partners Falkirk Community Trust and course builders Falkirk Victoria Harriers on how best to set up the occasion for next Saturday.

It will be a different course from recent years and we expect maps to be available at some point next midweek.

Please be patient with us on this – there may be one or two tweaks to the arrangements for Saturday but the first race will start at 11.00am as ‘previously advertised’. The rest of the timetable will be confirmed later.

Start-lists are online covering all of the races from U13s through the Seniors/Masters race with the Men’s to conclude the programme.

As we highlighted previously, the 2460 names entered bettered last year’s high by a couple of athletes and we believe this number is unprecedented over the past four or five decades of National XC championships (although we only have full numbers from 1994).

The partnership with the Daily Record should help increase the profile even more of the Lindsays National XC.

Daily Record Sport will feature the race on Friday and Saturday and then have a full report next Monday.

scottishathletics will add in Daily Record Sport to our Tweets on the event on the regular hashtag #LindsaysXC.

Vinco of course are coming along as in recent years and we will have both a lengthy broadcast online on Saturday night as well as You Tube films of each race some 48 hours after the event concludes.
