The scottishathletics Track & Field Commission are to consider the viability of rescheduling the 4J Studios Scottish U17/Senior Championships, which were due to take place on September 4 and 5.
This comes following discussions with UK Athletics, and the announcement today that the British Athletics Championships will now go ahead in Manchester on those dates.
We are acutely aware that facilities in Scotland will only begin to reopen from Monday 29 June. We are also aware that not every facility will be in a position to open in the next few weeks, and as such, not all athletes will be able to commence ‘normal’ training for some time yet.
We are also aware that social distancing and hygiene measures will remain in place for some time yet in Scotland.
We are very keen to plan for, and are planning for, a return to competition for August, but we will consider the most appropriate approach to our national championship delivery over the next week and communicate with our members accordingly.
Thank you for your ongoing patience.
