The Sunday action at our 4J Age Groups brought the curtain down on the 4J Indoor Season for 2023.

It’s been a hectic period for everyone and it was good to see our U13 and U20 athlete landing cherished medals at the Emirates Arena.

Once again we would stress our thanks to all those who have entered national competitions over the past seven weeks or so at the Glasgow venue.

For Officials, of course, the schedule has included the Scottish Schools and the Scottish Student Sport Champs and we express our gratitude for great competition to making events happen.

Rory Voss of Pitreavie AAC and Shettleston Harriers athlete, Gkontouin Imante, had a superb battle for the U20 Men’s 200m crown.

Voss took it in a Championship Best Performance of 21.68 and Imante’s time of 21.78 was also inside the previous record for these champs (held by Fraser Angus at 21.81).

That wasn’t the only gold headed for the kingdom of Fife with wins for the likes of Darcie Black (Dunfermline) and Fife AC track duo Katie Sandilands and Holly Ovens, in the 1500m and 400m respectively.

In the U13 age groups it was great to see young athletes stepping up to national competition as individuals with so many of these kids having effectively come through our ‘pathway’ via the popular SUPERteams for U12s.

Murray Robb‘s 10.02m performance in the Boys shot put is a new Scottish Record at U13 level.

Springburn Harriers were celebrating a fine performance in the Boys 6om as Wai Shun Tong came up with a Championship Best at 7.92 seconds. Wai Shun also won the 200m gold.

There was a gold double for Moorfoot athlete Robert Horton as he won in the sprint hurdles and the long jump.
