Murphy PB with GB; Start-lists for Grangemouth; Jake, Guy; Vacancy

Monday 8th July 2019

British Athletics website report

Andrew Murphy has made a number of GB and NI appearances in Combined Events over the past couple of years – and he came up with a superb performance at the European CE Team Champs in Ukraine.

The Superleague team event in Lutsk saw the British athletes take third place overall for a set of bronze medals.

And Andrew contributed significantly to that overall position with 11th place in the Men’s Decathlon as he set a new points tally PB of 7594. That pushed up his previous best of 7427 set only a matter of weeks ago.

Coached by Colin Sinclair, the Kilbarchan AAC athlete savoured no fewer than six individual event PB performances and two more SBs over the two days in Ukraine.

Andrew is now up to third place on the all-time Men’s list for decathlon with that 7594 score.
