National Academy athletes will head to Guernsey

A group of scottishathletics National Academy athletes will compete at an international event in the Channel Islands later this month.

Guernsey Athletics are the hosts for the Intertrust Athletics Games on Saturday 23 June with the match to feature England U20s, a Channel Islands select and around 10-12 Scots from the National Academy.

From a scottishathletics point of view, this as an international opportunity for individuals in selected events rather than a full team event.

National Academy athletes being given the chance to compete are being contacted by email and the selections are based on suitability for this particular event and combined with the possibility (or not) of other opportunities.

Guernsey Athletics are offering guest slots in certain events with some travel and accommodation costs paid, as well as places in other Senior and U20 events (with no costs paid).

*Guernsey Athletics are offering travel and accommodation for guest athletes (Seniors or U20s) in the following events and standards:

Men – 800m 15.50; Shot putt (6kg) – 14.00

Women – 200m 24.3; 400m – 55.0; 1500m 4.20.00; Long Jump 5.90m; High Jump 1.78m; Shot putt 13.00
