Marshals needed for Livingston; Enter 10-Mile Champs

National Road Relays

There’s been a big response once again by clubs for a National championship event – with the Road Relays coming up at Livingston on Sunday 25 March.

The 6-Stage race for Men and 4-Stage for Women is always one of the most popular on the scottishathletics calendar and features teams with U20/Seniors/Masters athletes.

However, once again we need to make an appeal for marshal assistance from clubs in order to run the event smoothly – in association with venue owners, West Lothian Council, who have given tremendous backing over many years, and Lothian RC.

The successful running of the event is dependent on  competing clubs providing marshals and we are looking for offers by Monday 19 March to be emailed to Alex Jackson.

The clubs listed here all provided marshals for the Lindsays National XC so we are more than happy for those clubs to be exempt from Livingston duties!

Bellahouston Road Runners, Cambuslang Harriers, Carnegie Harriers, Central AC, East Kilbride AC, Falkirk Victoria Harriers, Garscube Harriers, Harmeny AC, Irvine AC, Kinross Road Runners, Lasswade AAC, Linlithgow AC, Perth Strathtay H, PH Racing Club, Pitreavie AAC, Springburn Harriers, Stirling Tri Club, Strathearn Harriers, Teviotdale Harriers, Westerlands CCC.

So, if your club is racing Livingston and not mentioned above, why not ask one of your club officials if a volunteer name has been put forward? Thanks

The 56th Tom Scott Memorial Road Races will once again see hundreds of athletes travel to Strathclyde Park in Motherwell on Sunday 1 April for the Scottish 10-Mile Champs.

But you now need to move quickly if you want to race as entry limits look certain to be reached soon.

There are two races taking place that day, the 10-Mile Championship race and the Round the Loch 6k. The longer race plays host to the Scottish 10-Mile Championships and West District 10 Mile Championships , as has been the case in recent years.

The Round the Loch 6k attracts athletes of all abilities – a great run for those who prefer shorter distances! Race start for both is at 10am on Sunday 1 April and we understand there are already a number of entries received for the 10-Mile Champs.

Declarations open from 8:45 to 9:30 on the day. Pre-entry only – online and by post (via website), no entry on the day
