scottishathletics are delighted to announce a significant new sponsorship agreement with professional recruitment specialists FPSG.

The partnership will cover the scottishathletics and jogscotland Annual Awards Dinner, the Indoor Season at the Emirates Arena and the Outdoor Season in track and field.

FPSG have agreed a four-year partnership to support all of these events – starting with the 2017 FPSG Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on Saturday 4 November and running right through to the dinner in 2020.

It’s another exciting development on the commercial and communications side of scottishathletics and we believe the support from FPSG will help us enhance further our awards and our National Championship track and field events.

As part of the agreement, the FPSG Athlete of the Year will be revealed at the Dinner on November 4. The FPSG Annual Awards already have an official Media Partner via our association with The Herald, both in the newspaper and online, and that connection will also now stretch to 2020.

Athlete vest numbers for all Scottish Championship events both indoors and outdoors for the next three years will carry FPSG’s logo and there will be additional venue branding as well as social media involvement.

We are looking to introduce the hashtags #FPSGawards and FPSGathletics  for first the Dinner and then the Indoor Season.

John Agnew, managing director of FPSG, said: ‘The growth and development of scottishathletics over the past few years has been a real credit to all their members and the exciting plans they have for the future, is something that FPSG really want to be involved with.

‘We are delighted to be partnering scottishathletics over the next four years and looking forward to sharing in their continued success.

‘As a partner we can offer employment and training opportunities for members of scottishathletics. We will be hosting a number of seminars relevant to gaining employment and on-going development of key skills.

‘Through our experience, passion and drive for excellence, we continue to form lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike and we are proud to say we are the preferred supplier of recruitment services to a growing network of many of the world’s leading brands.’

Mark Munro – ‘support from FPSG will really help us’

Mark Munro, chief executive of scottishathletics, said: ‘I’m excited about the new partnership with FPSG and it is really good news for scottishathletics.

‘We’ve felt for some time that a partner would help with the Annual Awards Dinner and then there seemed to be an opportunity to link it with the Indoor Season and the Outdoor track and field events in the summer.

‘Essentially, we were looking to try and almost replicate what has been happening with Lindsays and their support for the Cross Country Season. That link has really grown over the past three years or so and worked well for both parties.

‘We’d love that to happen with FPSG and I look forward to welcoming them to the FPSG Awards Dinner at the Hilton in Glasgow on November 4. I think coming along that evening will give them a really good idea of what’s happening in our sport and how their support will help contribute to further growth.’

‘The partnership with FPSG will also provide real employment and training opportunities for our members, so I believe there is a real benefit for both organisations.’

Following the FPSG Awards Dinner, the first event of the Indoor Season will be the FPSG National Open – taking place at the Emirates Arena on Saturday 13

January.

The Herald, who supported the Senior Champs in 2017 as part of a Media Partnership agreement, are confirmed as supporters for the FPSG Annual Awards this November plus an additional three years.

‘We’re pleased to continue as official Media Partners with scottishathletics for events like the FPSG Annual Awards,’ said Stewart Weir, head of sport with The Herald.

‘It was a great night last year as a celebration of the sport in Scotland and we were already committed for 2017 and 2018. We are now happy to extend that by a further two years to 2020 – in line with the FPSG sponsorship – and look forward to covering some of the stories and personalities around the Awards.’
