Leeds 10K; Half Marathon Champs; Jobs; Glasgow XC

Wednesday 20th September 2017

There is an international road race opportunity comping up in November for up to eight athletes to compete for Scotland.

It is at the Leeds Abbey Dash race on Sunday 5 November in Yorkshire over the 10K distance.

Scotland will look to send four men and four women to the event; with one athlete in each selection from the U23 age bracket, if appropriate.

So now we are looking for intimations of interest to be considered for selection for Leeds, with form at the Scottish 10K Champs at Stirling and the forthcoming Great Scottish Run 10K in Glasgow (on October 1) being taken into account.

Athletes/coaches should contact Mark Pollard to express interest mark.pollard@scottishathletics.org.uk. We need that by Friday 6 October, please

HM Team Registration 2017

The Scottish Half Marathon Champs take place within the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on Sunday 1 October.

And we’d like help from clubs and from individuals who are racing that day to register for the Scottish Half Marathon Champs by letting us know in advance.

If you have already entered, or if you are a club official and know the names of your club entrants, we’d like those to be registered with scottishathletics by 12 noon on Wednesday 27 September in order to be eligible for championship medals (this will particularly be helpful for teams and age group medals).

All registered athletes must be current paid members of scottishathletics. Rules relating to students in Full time education in Scotland are applicable.

Forms are available via the link above and via the Events Section page for the Great Scottish Run. Please email them to Events@scottishathletics.org.uk Thanks

The Glasgow Athletics Association Endurance Group cross country training sessions are back for Winter 2017-2018.

Last season, the GAA sessions received great turn-outs from athletes and clubs, some with over 70 athletes coming to train together!

It would be good to see this continue for the 2017-2018 Winter, leading in to the major cross country events like the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk in February. Six dates have been identified:

Saturday 21 October Bellahouston Park; Saturday 4 November Pollok Park; Saturday 18 November Tollcross Park; Thursday 28 December Bellahouston Park; Saturday 20 January Pollok Park;  Saturday 10 February Tollcross Park
