The Cademuir Rollercoaster hill races in Peebles this coming Saturday incorporate the U17 and U20 Scotland trial races for the Junior Home International.
The JHI this year takes place over the same courses on Saturday 16 September and thus this weekend’s race give Scottish runners the chance to chase Scotland vests and enjoy some ‘home advantage’ at the later event.
These Rollercoaster races are also the final counting races in this year’s scottishathletics Junior Hill League with double points on offer. (See the table above for current standings)
However, each of the three races (3.8k, 5.8k and 8k) are open races and remain open to all; not just the trial and league contestants.

The Scottish Mid-Trail Champs will return to Fife again later this year.
Fife AC have kindly agreed to host the championships with Falkland Estate again the venue for races for all age groups – with medals on offer from U15 through to U20/Seniors/Masters.
Saturday 2 September is the date for diaries and the Senior races are contested by men and women, in the same race, over a distance of around 12K. The start-finish area as at the Strathmiglo end of the estate.
There are U11 and U13 development races, too, but these are not part of the Scottish Championships. It all happens on the day Fife AC host their ‘Festival of Trail Running’ and welcome all standard of athletes from beginners in this discipline to Scotland internationals.
The East District Half Marathon Champs are in Haddington on Saturday (August 12) at 2pm – organised by Haddington Running Club.
Registration opens at 12 noon at Aubigny Sports Centre, Haddington on the day. Race Numbers can be collected from the registration. Limited entries will be accepted on the day with an additional £2 fee.
Juniors must be aged 17 years and over
