Top shot! Bobby short-listed in World Sports Photography Awards

Bobby Gavin’s photography is a huge asset for athletics in Scotland.

And our official photographer is this week celebrating significant, global recognition for his outstanding work.

We are delighted to confirm that Bobby has been short-listed for the World Sports Photography Awards for 2026.

His image is from the Lindsays National XC at Falkirk earlier this year and the traditional ‘cavalry charge’ at the start of the Senior Men’s race.

We understand the WSPA awards attract around 4000 entries from photographers in 123 countries – so this is a stunning accolade for Bobby. He was also short-listed three years ago (see second photo below from Birmingham 2022).

Congratulations, Bobby!

After a Festive holiday break, he will be back on duty for scottishathletics at a whole series of cross country and indoor season events during a hectic January, February and March.
