scottishathletics are pleased to confirm a series of Scottish Road Championship events for 2023.

The championships status for a number of races has been confirmed following discussions and decisions by our Road Running and Cross Country Commission.

Marathon medals will on offer again this year via the TCS London Marathon and there are venue changes from 2022 for the Scottish 10k Champs and the Scottish Half Marathon Champs.

We will confirm at a later date more details around our Road Race GP Series for individual athletes, but clearly it will be contested across the five events selected for championship status. There will be £4000 prize-money to be shared by the top performers.

Here’s the Scottish Road Champs Series for 2023 . . .

Scottish Half Marathon Champs – at Inverness on Sunday 12 March

Scottish 10-Mile Champs – at the Tom Scott 10-Mile race at Motherwell on Sunday 2 April (provisional date)

Scottish Marathon Champs – at the London Marathon on Sunday 23 April

Scottish 5k Champs – at Silverknowes, Edinburgh, on Friday 5 May

Scottish 10k Champs – at Babcock 10k at Glasgow Green on Sunday 14 May (*Including Scottish 10k Wheelchair Champs)

The Road Running and Cross Country Commission would like to thank all those involved with events which have staged Championships in the recent past, as well as those who made submissions requesting the status for this year.

Further decisions around District Road championship events will follow in due course.
