Stef Reid in long jump competition

It was a fine weekend for Scottish Para athletes – with good performances in England and Europe.

The England Athletics Senior Disability Champs took place in Birmingham and there were a number of Scottish medallists.

Maria Lyle has been making very good progress in the past few months and confirmed her talent and commitment to improving with double gold in the T35 sprints at 100m and 200m.

Jo Butterfield was another to win two gold medals as she impressed in the F51 club throw and discus events. Graham Condie collected a silver in the club throw event for F32.

Paralympian Stef Reid took gold in the T44 long jump and Nathan Blackie, a T33 athlete, collected no fewer than four bronzes in the wheelchair events at 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m.

*AS those athletes competed in England, Scots Robert Ferrol and Owen Miller were with the GB team at the INAS European Champs in Holland.

Robert made it through the semi-finals of the 400m before losing out while Owen picked up a fifth-place finish in the 1500m final. Congrats to both on their selections and their performances.

*AT the Red Star AC Champs, Shelby Watson recorded a 100m on 22.6 which takes her into the top three in the world in the T33 class.
