Listen to Coaching Conference Web Cast

Saturday 15th October 2016

The scottishathletics Coaching Conference for 2016 attracted a top class line-up to the Emirates Arena last month.

And we’ve been delighted with the feed-back we received from the 200 coaches, staff and presenters who were in attendance.

Now there is an opportunity to listen in on the final Q and A Session of the Coaching Weekend, which took place on the Sunday afternoon at the Emirates.

Martin Bingisser and Vern Gambetta have created the material and feature on the Web Cast from the HMMR website, and we are pleased to take the opportunity to share that with a wider audience.

scottishathletics Performance Manager Darren Ritchie put together the Conference line-up and, in addition to Martin and Vern, hear from the following coaches:

*Aston Moore is the British Athletics Senior Institute Coach for Horizontal Jumps where he is the personal coach to some of the leading horizontal jumpers in the UK. He has coached multiple international medallists including former triple jump world champion and Olympic silver medalist Phillips Idowu.

*Andy Neal is the coach of 2015 Commonwealth Games discus bronze medalist and English record holder Jade Lally.

*Trevor Painter leads a middle distance and sprint training group in Wigan. His most succesful athlete has been his wife, world championship 800 meter medalist Jenny Meadows.

*Brian Fitzgerald recently retired as head track and field coach at Rio Mesa High School in California. In 36 years he coached multiple state and national champions and his athletes won the Track and Field News Athlete of the Year honor three times.

*Andy Young is the head coach at Glasgow University and also the personal coach for UK 1500 meter record holder Laura Muir.
