Officiating

Athletics meetings simply could not take place without the sure guidance of qualified officials.  Starters, track judges, timekeepers, field judges, photo finish operators, administration officials, marshals, course setters and course measurers, photo-finish personnel ensure the smooth progression of each meeting for the benefit of athletes and spectators alike.

Working in a voluntary capacity, it can be an enormously rewarding way of spending your spare time, be it officiating at a local road race or at major international track and field championships.

To find out more about becoming a qualified official, please take time to have a look at the courses hosted by scottishathletics here.

If you're interested in getting involved as an official, please contact: volunteer@scottishathletics.org.uk

Below is the Official's Allocation for Summer 2009, which will be subject to change. If you are unable to attend any of the Meetings please contact Ross Cunningham: ross.cunningham@scottishathletics.org.uk or 0131 539 7344
