International Youth Cup team announcement

There was an excellent performance by young hill runner, Anna Macfadyen, at the International Youth Cup in the Czech Republic.

The National XC champion from Forres Harriers finished seventh in a race featuring 55 athletes and her team-mates, Mairi Wallace and Grace Whelan were also in the top half for the team to finish seventh. Mairi was placed 22nd and Grace wasn’t far behind in 26th place.

It was tougher for the boys in the junior men’s race, with Fife AC’s Tristan Rees the best-placed at 22nd.  He was followed home by Finlay Todd at 29th with George Rees in 41st place. That gave the Scotland team ninth place.

Results:

International Youth Cup Mountain Running junior men: 22 Tristan Rees;  29 Finlay Todd; 41 George Rees (Scotland 9th team).

International Youth Cup Mountain Running junior women: 7 Anna MacFadyen; 22 Mairi Wallace; 26 Grace Whelan (Scotland 7th team).
