British Athletics website preview

Timetable and live Results

Six Scottish athletes are with British Athletics in Italy this week for the European Juniors event at Grosseto.

It’s another exciting opportunity for half-a-dozen of our talented and hard-working teenagers to test themselves on the European stage.

For the likes of sprinter Alisha Rees, 800m runner Ben Greenwood and discus thrower George Evans, the Euro U20s mark the next stage in their progression after previous international appearances – including winning medals for Scotland at the Commonwealth Youth Games two years ago.

Joining that trio in the GB and NI selection in Italy are burgeoning endurance athlete Jemma Reekie, heptathlete Holly McArthur and 4 x 400m relay runner Jill Cherry.

Kilbarchan AAC athlete Jemma, in fact, is lined up to double up this week – taking on the 3000m and the 1500m following recent fine performances.

Added to the selections of Neil Gourley, Jack Lawrie and Kelsey Stewart for the Euro U23s in Bydgoszcz last week, it means no fewer than nine Scottish athletes are involved at a high level with British Athletics on the European stage.

All at scottishathletics congratulates the six athletes involved at the European Juniors and wish them and their families and coaches all the very best for competition.

And just as was the case for the Euro U23s last week in Poland, the European Athletics website will be up-to-speed on the event with live results and a live stream from Grosseto.

Here is the projected schedule for the Scottish athletes for the first couple of days (times given are British time)
