It’s been a few years since Scotstoun Stadium staged one of the popular GAA Miler Meet events – with Hutchesons Grammar and Crownpoint having been recent venues.

But the Scottish 3000m Champs at U17 and U20 level will be staged there on Friday evening as part of the overall 800m/3000m event, organised by the Glasgow Athletic Association.

Once again, there has been a terrific response to a GAA Miler Meet with record entries received for the two distances – with a 1500m/5000m meet to come at the end of July.

On Friday, there are no fewer than  14 races at 800m as well as seven at 3000m, which will take in those age group champs events for our U20 and U17 athletes.

Thanks to the endurance community across Scotland – and we are seeing clubs from the length and the breadth of the country being represented at these meets – for supporting the GAA Miler Meet and Scottish 3000m Champs at U20 and U17 level.

Please do come along on Friday evening and support team-mates and training partners in a way that hopefully helps athletes produce PB performances.
